We both Olay on our own xboxes in different rooms on the same wifi connection. We've tried every solution to fix why it kicks whoever joins the creator games. It will kick the joining player every 5 minutes almost on the dot. We've seen some forums offer solutions but none of them work. One was if you add the friend from the game lobby it works. That worked the first time and didn't boot me for about an hour and a half believe it or not until my friend "the saved game creator" saved it as a shared game so I could play it when he wasn't there. I did that and it said I had to save it to save the progression which therefore saved a new file for me and him to play so to speak. When we got back on it was the same ole same ole kick the person that was joining the game no matter if they joined themselves or you invited them from the lobby screen. We have went to every length to make this game work multiplayer but it wont. I've used my Hotspot while he was on wifi on a newly created game. Etc. Nothing has worked and always kicks the on joining player. The only option I have left that I can think of is if I download it on my computer and play with game pass through that like I've done on my Xbox maybe that will work. Does anyone have any solitions?solutions?? Or does anyone else face these issues I can't find anyone that does on any reddit forums or anywhere honestly. P.S. the time clocks on the Xbox consoles are the same so that's not the issue.

Ive tried reinstalling the game, the only way im able to load it up is if i am invited by one of the friends that has the shared save.

I have Gamepass Ultimate and have been playing grounded for several years. I was playing it yesterday and everything was fine, I came to load it today and all my save games are gone, all the game is showing me in the load screen is a Shared world save from November 25.

I am logged into the correct account in the xbox app, and the xbox app is telling me I have only played the game for 3 days which is just plainly wrong as I have been playing it for hundreds of hours (and have the achievements/trophies to back this up).

In the C:\Users\<MY USER DATA>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Maine_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs\0009B0C30C30E75F_0000000000000000000000007D7CFB3C I see 120 folders detailing folders going back to Sept 25 (when I changed my PC).

I have tried all the basic troubleshooting (logging out and into the Microsoft account for example, rebooting the PC, starting the game with no internet (where NO saves are shown to me)), all to no avail. I have not verified game files as this mentioned save files that have not been back up may be lost.

Anything I can check or have I lost everything? Please feel free to ask for further info, I wasn't sure what to include.

If I go into 1st person view and crouch, I can slowly move along until the hammer icon shows up and break them that way. It's really tedious and something I've noticed is that I haven't seen any Valentines Fortune trinkets yet. I'm a little worried they might be under the terrain. :-/ Got 5 Everlasting Hogstoppers, though!

I'm trying to selct a different teen in a sharde world I have with some friends. When I host and enter the lobby I can select the teen of choice (I've tried all of them), but when I load in it keeps me as the last teen (Willow) that was used. I'm definitely over her one-liners now and was looking forward to getting back to playing Hoops (my personal favourite in G2).

This bug is happening every time I load in (approximately 5 or 6 times now).

Then selecting an older save to save over just deletes the older back up.

We now only have 2 Back Up saves remaining (which are 2 days plus old)  and saving over just deletes them. Auto save isn't working either. 

We've tried disconnecting from the internet and reconnected as i seen someone suggesting this - but did nothing. 

Tried getting into combat then ending, which didnt help. 

Anyone have any solutions?

I peeped every creature except the red baby ant in my first playthrough. I then had to go into NG+ to get it, so went through and peeped it but the achievement did not unlock.

My assumption is that this is due to peeping my missing card in NG+ and it's not taking into account the cards from my first playthrough.

I just wanted to check if this was a bug or intended?

I can't attach a screenshot of my creature cards or my save (due to size) but I have every card (8/8, 48/48 & 15/15).

I am logged into Xbox and am not in a custom game. I peeped the red baby any about a week ago and have played daily.

All of a sudden crossplay is disabled. I tried to enable it, did all the steps with microsoft and at the end mirosoft says "WELCOME BACK" and  " you are now added to grounded" but in the same time a window popped up on my tv screen saying  "GROUNDED COULDNT BE LINKED TO A MICROSOFT ACCOUNT AT THIS TIME" .

I chatted with Microsoft for over an hour. We looked for updates on ps4, we even deleted the game and re-installed it! Nothing changed. I get the same problem. I cant ENABLE crossplay ANYMORE. I need help!!!!

Me and my friend have come so far with the game and i dont want to continue playing it alone! Why buying a game and then all of a sudden it doesnt work anymore? Microsoft tried to help me without any success, now i need help from obsidion please.

The gnat has disappeared. I tried loading earlier auto saves and found nothing. They aren’t even in the pet house anymore. They can’t die because I have invincible pets enabled. I tried scanning for gnat fuzz and raw gnat and proceeded to check every red square on the map to see if they had the lil fire ant helm and nothing. The only other thing I read was a pet leaving when unhappy. If that’s the case what happens to my items? Can I recover them? I had some trinkets you can only get once. If they’re lost forever I can’t bring myself to start over.

I’m trying to play Grounded with my friend through GeForce NOW, but I keep getting the following error message when joining their game:

Error: JoinPlatformSession: Failed: 2 "The game you are trying to join no longer exists."

Things I’ve tried so far:

  • Restarted GeForce NOW and the game.

  • Made sure I’m signed in to Xbox Live inside the game.

  • Asked my friend to re-invite me several times.

  • Tried joining both via invite and from the friends list.

Additional info:

  • Another player is able to join the same host without issues.

  • Up until recently, the game worked perfectly for me.

  • On my regular laptop (without GeForce NOW), I can join without problems — but the laptop is too weak to run the game smoothly.

  • Other players can also join my hosted games on GeForce NOW without any problems.

So the issue seems to happen only when I try to join someone else’s game through GeForce NOW.

🔹 My setup:

  • Platform: GeForce NOW (Steam version of Grounded)

  • Xbox Live account is linked and active

  • Error happens every time I try to join

Could this be related to GeForce NOW cloud sessions, or is there another fix?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

From the looks of it, I, like many others are having bugs in Grounded. And not the killable kind. 
Errors I've seen
The biggest one is that when me and my friend are ready to play she sends me an invite and I try to join.  Game opens and loads to the screen where I push any button to play. I click a button, it logs me in, and instead of joining a game I am routed to the title screen. We have tried everything. Enabling crossplay, which then tells me that I need to disable crossplay as the game is not crossplay, so I disable crossplay and get the game no longer exists error. Sometimes when I enable then disable crossplay I get stuck in a menu that only lets me enable crossplay or accessibility and no other menu including quit. Other times when I enable disable crossplay I get the error JoinPlatformSession "Failed 2". If I try to search for her game in mutiplayer I get a message that I need to log in to my X-Box account, that never goes away unless I enable crossplay. When I log in and and click mutiplayer, I see no friends online or no games. It doesn't matter if I'm logged into my Xbox account or Steam account, no matter what I do nothing works. She has tried everything as well enableing/disablieing crossplay. My guess is it has something to do with the servers as the only solution we have found so far is to bruteforce entry by sending invite after invite for hours until it works. 
Other problems that I've seen that I did not realize were bugs until looking at the forum here. 
Item build and relocation placement. I've struggled with placing or moving items and for no reason they are red with the message that the item is obstructed, I keep moving it around until it looks like it will work and it is blue and click and nothing happens. Rarely it will place but not where I had it, sometimes even behind. There have been hours where we were trying to play corner stairs and nothing would work.
My friend has complained about having no sound at one point. 
I've been locked in to third person view where I could not switch back to first person view until I logged in the next day. 
I've randomly been kicked out of her game for no reason. 
A few things around pets but honestly if the first one could be fixed we would be a lot happier!

Bought Grounded 10/4/25. Played one shared world with a friend for a few days. When I host he lags so he hosts most games. One night I fell asleep while playing. When I logged in the next day I got an error.

 

”Cannot load shared world”

Cannot load a Shared World Backup that is missing the primary save. This world may no longer be shared with you or has been deleted.

 

I made my own new map and hosted it. The next day I had the exact same issue with MY hosted world.

 

I moved the game to play directly from the console instead of the microSD card like I have everything else. No change. 
my friend created a Standard Copy then from that created a Shared Copy and reunited me to it. This worked until my system crashed 15 minutes later and I got the same error again. 

 

I have zero interest in having to go through this process every time I want to play with others. What is the cause? How can I fix this?
