Random video game news... video random news game

Re: Tim Cain news - well, firstly, that's awesome. Secondly - I'd rather it be a new IP. I almost always would rather it be a new IP. Because then there's hope that it could be the one that would reignite in me an interest in an rpg, again, if only for a short while. -

The TV and Streaming Thread: That's Entertainment!

You can just watch the first 80 seconds of this video. That's the section that amused me re: the video's title question. The rest is the usual "they ruined a beloved franchise/no longer aimed at original audience" type stuff. But yeah - in terms of promo posters and this franchise (which I didn't know existed until I saw this video) - imo it's awful. But hey, I'm not the target audience anymore so whatever. - Today

Youtube recommendations, let's beat the algorithm

Wow. I haven't felt that type of cheer-emotion watching a solo skating routine since Scott Hamilton (not that I've paid tons of attention to such for a long time, mind ). Back then they were still all doing (or trying to do) triples IIRC. What a performance. And I guess they made the backflip legal at some point. I remember Scott only doing them in non-competitive shows because couldn't do them then. -
I decided to start the main quest in Skyrim\LoreRim I mentioned before that LoreRim uses the Alternative Start mods which creates about 10-12 different beginning outside of whole Helgen vanilla dragon attack and these alternate starts vary from shipwreck survivor, Vampire\Werewolf clan or bounty hunter so you can start the game with nothing if you want but they all have the same result. The main dragon quests dont initiate so you can explore the world and advance in levels without any dragon interaction. And then when you want to start the main quest you travel to Helgen, which obviously hasn't been destroyed, and you rent a specific room from the Innkeeper and when you wake up you go into Helgen and you witness the executions and the dragon attack and then normal Skyrim starts Sounds simple right? I had spent 120 hours on the game and I was on level 38 and I decided to do this but I encountered a major bug, I go to Helgen but there were no NPCS outside of Imperial soldiers and that means no Innkeeper so I couldn't initiate the main quest and the Innkeeper use to be in Helgen I spent about 2 hours troubleshooting the alternate start mods because they control this but I had no luck so I just restored back to a game before I discovered Helgen and then started the main quest because the Innkeeper was there, I lost 2 levels and had to redo some quests but it wasnt a major problem And then I had another bug finding the first dragon stone at Bleak Falls Barrow, I had already been there and defeated the Draugr and I couldn't access the dragon stone so I just used console commands to progress the quest to finish so I could advance The point of these stories is LoreRim can create some issues but now that I have started the main quest its progressing well, I am learning dragon shouts and I have killed 2 dragons so far. Easy ones and other dragons are still too tough unless its a scripted battle like the first one outside of WhiteRun. So I need to progress in levels more before I will be able to defeat tough dragons by myself with my companions But Im glad I have started the main quest, it adds an overarching level of excitement around what I need to do and I still can do dozens of normal quests I am also deciding who I should support in the civil war but Im leaning towards the Stormcloaks. There cause seems more reasonable and I dont like the attitude of the Thalmor. Also I have made so many friends amongst the Nords who are Stormcloaks I cant imagine them becoming my enemy?

I've noticed Google is trying to get me to verify my age on Gmail. My 2 email accounts have been open longer than 18 years, so maybe just use that to figure out my age. -
IDK what is going on my end, but it happened again the next day and I am guessing it will happen again today but here is what I did: I cleared temp files in both folders, uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, rebooted, tested and it didn't do that anymore. What I noticed is that when it happens, it does so at the moment it autosaves, IDK if there is an option to disable auto saves while they correct it, I will check, but yeah, last time it happened I had just finished the hacking of the antenna in the hedge and as it was autosaving this happened, and then I reinstalled and rebooted and could play for hours... but it is not actually sensible nor acceptable to just reinstall every day hahaha

I know there's no official support for NWN 2 here anymore. But maybe someone in the community can help. I'm looking for the patch nwn2_pcx1_german_from_1221586_to1221587.zip It's missing from the last remaining support page: https://neverwintervault.org/patches?field_game_tid=6&field_official_version_tid=All&field_platform_tid=138&field_language_tid=143&field_requirements_tid=All It's available for the base game without the expansion. It's also available for the second expansion, Storm of Zehir. It's also available for all other languages except German (and, oddly enough, Polish). (By the way, I just discovered that several other patches in other languages are missing. What's going on?) Anyway, I'm just looking for the patch nwn2_pcx1_german_from_1221586_to1221587.zip. Does anyone have a source for it?

Boots on Netflix - I guess the Pentagon released a statement calling this woke garbage, which of course led to a spike in viewership. But the show was great. It actually seemed a lot more pro-military than most of the media out there. Yeah, the main character is gay and he's dealing with a time in history where that would get you discharged, but he's also recognizing that the boot camp experience is changing him for the better. Anyways I read up on the true story a bit and the guy behind it seems to be a lot more secure in himself than Pete Hegseth. Greg Cope said in response to the Pentagon's criticism that thankfully the Marines taught him not to care about that stuff. -
so australia actually forced social media verification on everyone all this to steal slightly more data wonder how much bribe politician take for such big mess less than 10 million maybe

Same thing here. Game will not stay up anymore. 13 hours in and now after 2 minutes in the game it crashes with the same error as yours. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and it's the same error. It's always if I get near the base too. Since this error has been around since August, I guess I'll come back when it finally releases.

mrchristianq started following Fatal Errors EVERY play session
-
I have a "Fatal error" crash at least one time, or multiple times every single play session I have had with this game. From reading online forums, i'm not the only one. Has Obsidian addressed this. It's been a month since the last patch, my specs are 9800x3D & 5900. I'm have updated drivers. I disabled Ray Tracing, I tried every settings configuration possible, but it continues crashing. Anyone else have this issue? Any solutions? Its ruining my experience because I'm saving every 2 minutes because I dont want to lose progress from another crash....

Turn Based mode beta bugs and feedback

You actually can cancel spells outside of a characters turn by switching to them and pressing the cancel action button (default x) though I'm not sure how exactly it affects their initiative in the turn order. -

Some more bugs/issues: -Player characters and enemies get stuck and can move randomly, so far I've only encountered this issue on the endless paths lv 10 and lower. Sometimes the game requires a restart to move your characters again other times the combat ending is enough. -The helwax mold can not be select from quickslots. -Sometimes when switching an item in the quickslots, the old item amount and action type shows instead of that of the item you replaced it with. -The mind wave AoE always shows as coming from your character and not from the enemy you target, I believe it used to show from the enemy before but I'm not certain. -The skaen temple fanatic enemy sometimes spams the combat log with the threatening presence ability -I've had issues with the cape of the master mystic preventing free action spells from being used when the invisibility gets activated, so far this has only occurred during dragon fights and the spells work again if you use suppress affliction on the character. (maybe it does so outside dragon fights as well, I don't remember the invisibility ever activating outside dragon fights though so I haven tested it yet.) -When quick binding an ability to the left shift or ctrl keys it usually immediately removes the keybind, though sometimes it does work. -Sometimes when equipping something that gives additional abilities the abilities don't show up until a reload. -

first microsoft now netflix hope everyone enjoy the monopoly it would be worse than cable -
That actually sounds like a pretty cool setting. A tropical, overgrown post-apocalyptic environment could feel really fresh for Fallout. The mix of mutated wildlife, dense vegetation, overgrown cities, and different factions could make for great exploration. I’m not sure what engine they’d use, but I’d definitely play something like this.

Arlund started following Background art bug
-
Hi all! I am playing Deadfire and while I love it alot, one issue I'm constantly coming across is the background art for the higher elevation scenes not fitting the window properly. I was wondering if anyone had a fix for this? I've noodled around with the settings in the graphics, but nothing seems to help. It started at Periki's Overlook but it's also happening at The Sacred Stair.
