Hi, i installed Outer Worlds 2 from the Windows Store. I was playing about a week without any issues. Since today its hanging on startup though. I'm getting as far as the title screen where it says "The Outer Worlds 2" and the music is playing. However the "press key to continue" text never appears and i can`t go any further. I already updated my AMD Graphics drivers and uninstalled / reinstalled the game without any change. Any advice on how to fix this? Thanks MunchkinMan

1. The end of the Tristan storyline "casting off the veil." It's all done except I'm supposed to debrief with him after all the action with Virgil and Tristan acts like nothing happened - cannot complete question. REALLY annoying. 2. Even more annoying, there is a game ending but (for me, anways) where I'm trying to bridge the differences b/w Auntie and Ruth (the order). I talked to Auntie first and kept things non-commital, then did all the Order/Ruth things and was told to strike a deal with Auntie. I go back to the ship to re-engage Auntie and there are no options to move orward withthe quest "An equitable arrangement" (or whatever it's called). i talk to her VPs and the only option is to 100% side with Auntie, which I don't want to do. I feel like Obsidian's update caused some major bugs. I have no interest in playing this game anyway if these cannot be resolved sadly. Garth

For the main character my favorite class is probably Monk. But I also like Barbarian and Druid a lot. Wizard is also cool... My personal ranking (not in terms of power but of enjoyment) for main character class might be: 1. Monk 2. Barbarian, Druid 3. Wizard 4. Priest, Chanter 5. Ranger, Paladin 6. Fighter, Rogue, Cipher I started a new turn based run with a melee Ranger (+Wolf) a few days ago.

Adding a note that could help in context, not sure if all having same situation, I have the exact same problem, and I am suck on "Hand over the Calcaduceus" floating marker without NPCs. Checking the Journal, I can see in "Methods of Applied Force" -> "Secure the Archive for the Order" still has the note 'The Archive is badly damaged, You will not be able to hand over the Calcaduceus until you have made the repairs necessary to generate the rift data.'

First off, a big thank you for bringing this to PoE1. I've always held the opinion that if the first game had a turn-based option it would be my favourite over its sequel, I hope the full release is brought to ps4, I'd have a new favourite CRPG. (Mainly a console guy) Anyway, a couple of issues I've noticed so far: 1. When using a chanter in combat, the game will sometimes get "stuck" whilst the end turn button just says "Waiting" and I'm unable to proceed. I saw a similar report about this and would like to add that when this happens, my rangers' animal companion's name is at the top of the scree, as though it's selected. Not sure if there's a correlation there. When trying to quickload to escape the situation, I end up with a black screen, but with audio, and I have to force-close the game. 2. The pathing on enemies can sometimes be a little whacky, sometimes not attacking when they clearly should be or sometimes they'll go all the way around a corridor and come out of the other side instead of just walking 3 feet towards me. 3. A similar issue can also happen with my party members, sometimes if they can't quite make a shot they will break out into a strange jagged run (almost like they're lagging across the battlefield) and simply keep moving towards the enemy until they're out of movement points, rather than attacking. There are much more in-depth reports to come from others I'm sure, I just wanted to report on my experience, I really want this to be as good as it can be. Thanks!

more legal weirdness and for those who cannot get past the paywall, a smidge... The memo, which was completed in late summer, is said to open with a lengthy recitation of claims submitted by the White House, including that drug cartels are intentionally trying to kill Americans and destabilize the Western Hemisphere. The groups are presented not as unscrupulous businesses trying to profit from drug trafficking, but as terrorists who sell narcotics as a means of financing violence. Based on such claims, the memo states that Mr. Trump has legitimate authority to determine that the United States and its allies are legally in a formal state of armed conflict with “narco-terrorist” drug cartels, according to the people who have read the document. The rest of the memo’s reasoning is based on that premise. ... most parents is aware o' the Because I Said So doctrine of authority, but am thinking it is a bold approach to suggest it constitutes a legal sufficient rationale for the killing o' 80 people sans any proof that they is posing an imminent threat o' violence to americans. HA! Good Fun!

Turn Based mode beta bugs and feedback
Reinne replied to Reinne's question in Patch Beta Bugs and Support
I've encountered some more bugs: -The firebrand spell form the belt of the royal deadfire cannoneer takes a full action instead of a free action.(I assume this is an oversight since all other summoned weapons and the druid version of the same spell seem to be free actions) -Sometimes when using the fighter into the fray ability nothing happens and I am unable to take any actions with that character(though animations still play) until I reload the game. When hovering over the into the fray ability it's greyed out and says it's already active. -The trader Ponamu Bird-Scorned doesn't become hostile when attacked, and in turnbased mode combat starts anyway and doesn't stop until you defeat him. -

Random video game news... RNG is your friend!

They said this when the EA started, that'd the price would increase over the course of development. -

Would think they could just arrange a translator in an ad hoc fashion. Similar if they have a foreign leader addressing them or something.

I have tried Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and it plays surprisingly poorly. I am puzzled how this got such a positive reception - the bosses miss the health bars, everything has contact damage, enemies revive upon re-entering rooms, and there is no dedicated dodge key. And the MC screaming on every executed attack annoys me. I have also tried Real Web Legends: Carter's Quest. It is in Early Access and the custom controls reset upon closing the game. The developer stated that it will be resolved eventually, so I am happy to wait for v.1.0. Otherwise, it is an action-adventure with generally pleasant combat and interesting character design. The areas are a bit too large and too empty. The story of a silent and amnesiac protagonist following suggestions of a flying entity is not new, but works.

@Mirole you didnt solve it, you just did things slightly different than the rest of us. But, for those of us who chose the path of uniting aunties choice and the order, and decided to conquer the archive without help or reinforcements, we are stuck. We called the lift already,.went.through the underworld etc. Theres no fix for this..i just continued and now im at the endpoint. Im not happy about it, but it is what it is. I realize what it would take to fix this bug, and obsidian just isnt willing to spend the money to do so. Some things just cant be predicted. But damn lol

I have attached a video that fairly succinctly shows my issue, where upon approaching the crashed train with the Zyranium, the game begins to freeze for several seconds before resuming with bugged audio that continuously stutters. Missing Aza
AffidavitAphid replied to AffidavitAphid's topic in The Outer Worlds 2: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
It happened again. Seems to occur sporadically. Unless this behavior is diagetic, and somehow related to Aza's companion quest or just a quirk of hers, then I only hope the fine folk at Obsidian resolve this with their next update. -
Wot I bought last - a fool and their money mystary edition
Katphood replied to ShadySands's topic in Computer and Console
I got the older version which is by the way(surprise! surprise!) gone from the store. Good luck finding the older version on some random website with 20 thousand viruses. Digital distribution is the future they said... -
Countries that have many different official languages still have one common main and " middle ground " language that is used primarily And its selected based on the fact everyone living there should understand it In South Africa we have 12 official languages but English is the main language that is used for government and business communication Throughout Africa you could find a country that has dozens of different tribal languages so the European language is preferred as the official language because it actually reduces tribal tensions, translation complexity and is consistent. It would create massive tribal tension in South Africa if Zulu was adopted as the main language because the other tribal activists would understandably say " why Zulu, what about our language. Why should Zulu be officially elevated higher than ours" Its perfectly normal for English to be the main language in the US and everyone should at least understand it
