Torm51 - if you right-click the Grey Sleeper, does it have an illustration in its description? As of 2.01, it was the only soulbound weapon without one.

Ya it gives a description.

Well yes, a description was already there since the beginning :) What I mean is, does it have a black-and-white illustration of the weapon in the style of the IE games? All soulbound weapons do except for The Grey Sleeper in 2.01. Example from St Ydwen's Redeemer:

By the way, do modals retain their graphical effect upon saving/loading now?

Is Resilient Companion fixed? It should give +1 DR every 3 levels but the bonus goes away when you load a save.

Not fixed.

I've got Black Pages in 2.01, there was only one unique spell - Shadowflame.

It's in my inventory and no unique spells except shadowflame.

There's a chance it was fixed and the fix is not retroactive.

Have you tried giving yourself the Grimoire via the console to see what it looks like?

That is what i have.

Again I got them all.  so if you got the book before the patch it probably still wont be there for you.  I got the book after 2.02 and they are all there.

correct my friend.  Unfortunately.  But I do have Missing textures as Xaurip Champ spears and ogre clubs are pink :( is there anything I can do about that?

What does "universal" weapon type mean in terms of talents and such? Does this mean the quarterstaff that my wizard summons is now no longer a quarterstaff? Or does it mean it's now a quarterstaff and, say, a crossbow as well?

My guess is they are like soulbound weapons where they count as all weapon types when comes to talents like those that give +6 accuracy to certain weapons. So if you have say a weapon focus on soldier, you would still get +6 accuracy with any universal weapon type that aren't in that category which I think now includes all summoned weapons.

Hi ALL

Firstly would like to say a huge thank you to obsidian for making an AWESOME game. My favorite since BG2.

Can I please bring to your attention: RANGERS ARE INCREDIBLY UNDERPOWERED AND BASICALLY OBSELTE.

For the following reasons:

- They have only one ability that differentiates them from all other classes capable of using ranged weapons; swift aim. This is the only ability of substance. All other ranger abilities are mediocre and almost useless.
- A Rogue and a Fighter who specializes in ranged combat is far more affective then a ranger.

- The rangers companion WILL DIE as soon as it enters front line combat in a medium difficulty fight.

- The only other Ranger ability that looks promising is stunning shot, though is useless for the above reason. This is also a high level ability. EG mages can stun/ confuse at very low levels and don't require a rodent to run around to enable it.

- I have finished the game on hard and you can hardly tell the difference between a mage/priest with a ranged weapon compared to a ranger.

PLEASE OVERHAUL RANGER. THIS IS RIDICULOUS . HONESTLY!

From the main 2.02 thread:

We have updated the beta branch to build v2.02.0749, which should:

  1. Fix the pink Ogre and Xaurip weapons
  2. Fix a problem choosing chants after respeccing a Chanter in special circumstances

Thanks for all of the feedback.

is this an update for everyone or just if you are signed up to the beta of the new patch?

I'm on my first playthrough, at level five. would you advise getting the new patch or waiting?

Hey, everyone. Looks like there was a little bit of miscommunication on our part which caused confusion in the update notes.

The note that mentioned "Draining Item Mod should only drain 15% attack speed now" was incorrect, but it requires a longer explanation.

In The White March a new Item Mod was created that was intended to drain a small amount of attack speed from an opponent and grant it to the weapon's user. Erroneously, this mod was initially named "Draining." Because we already had an Item Mod named Draining in the base game it was causing the old Item Mod to get removed from older weapons when it shouldn't have. To fix this issue the new Item Mod was renamed to Ambushing. This meant that weapons that use the attack speed draining effect used the Item Mod named Ambushing and the older weapons that used the Endurance draining effect used the Item Mod named Draining.

The update notes incorrectly referenced the older name (Draining) when mentioning that a bug with the Item Mod had been fixed. This is the cause of the confusion.

Unfortunately, Ambushing doesn't properly describe the Item Mod effect, so it is being changed to the name "Time Siphon."

In conclusion, Draining is remaining the same (Endurance draining) and Ambushing is now named Time Siphon (and has had its attack speed siphoning reduced to 15%). The name change for Time Siphon will take place in the 2.03 update.

I apologize for the confusion that this caused.
