Potentially heavy damage encounters and healing

Recommended Posts

So fights like the dragons and ogre Druids with plague of insects in the early game. Especially with low hp chars like wizard and priests etc I play PoTD if they hit zero they are dead, no maim. I rather them go down then give them a heal cause they keep losing hp and die. Thoughts? Should I just let them topple over in these situations to avoid the death?

So that goes to the question.  In this game, a healadin type character like a Kind Wayfarer with a bunch of heals is kind of meh.  If you have to heal THAT Much its probably a bad thing and your back line wont survive.

Depends how quickly you can end the fight.

And you can have lots'n lots of health but bad defenses (barbarian for example). In that case constant healing is great.

Every level reduces the health issue a bit, too.

And this is where I am thankful that the enemy loses interest in my characters when they are knocked out instead of finishing them off.

This has been my only complaint about the health/endurance split, effectively no viable way to heal health, save for one potion, one spell (which only works on the caster), and one skill/talent/whatever. Which, as it seems, is not THAT big a deal. Else I would have stopped playing! :-D

[ETA, and then only in combat, except for the triage thing.]

Well, yes. That is true. And I suppose it is possible to build a character or even a party that takes full advantage of both. But compared to the multitude of ways to handle endurance, the lopsidedness is still an issue, IMO.
