Josh Sawyer Pillars of Eternity 2 Tease Thread

Recommended Posts

We know Pillar of Eternity 2 is in development, but it hasn't been formally announced yet. That hasn't stopped Josh Sawyer from posting various images over the past few months, however.

Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.

I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin.

Tea for the teapot!

To be honest I don't really want any teasing regarding Pillars 2. I just want some concrete information.... Like a date.

"Those who look upon gods then say, without even knowing their names, 'He is Fire. She is Dance. He is Destruction. She is Love.' So, to reply to your statement, they do not call themselves gods. Everyone else does, though, everyone who beholds them."
"So they play that on their fascist banjos, eh?"
"You choose the wrong adjective."
"You've already used up all the others.”

If Pallegina returns in PoE II, we can begin to speculate about which formula OE is going to use for the game. We might even get a direct sequel with cameos or returning playable companions, and an importable watcher. That would be my first choice.

They could be using existing characters as placeholders - to test new armors, animations, quest scripts...

A part of me is "**** the endings, they are just potential futures, give me back my party" but I doubt it will happen.

I find the direct sequel part an unlikely assumption, as Pallegina is one of the companions who would have the least trouble making a cameo on a game with a different protagonist. The same story applies to Kana, BTW.

I'm more interested in that Sinn 103 Chrono.

No ****, I was like, .. "Damn, Sawyer knows how to watch."  If only it wasn't on a nato, sure they are okay for skinny wrist people but for me they always fit like crap and are uncomfortable.

I prefer NATO's. To me, they're easier to clean, more secure, and soft on the wrist. Plus, I can attach a mini-compass to it.

Stupid question but how much time is a godlike life expectancy ? Same as their parent race ?

It is interesting to determine if it is an immediate sequel.

That is actually a question I've asked myself for a long time, actually. If I had to guess, I would say it is not much longer.

But I still don't believe we will play as the Watcher again. Hard to go more epic than what we have already seen without going too far.

But... maybe the Watcher can appear, as a NPC or plot point, or maybe...

What if the game opens with the Watcher dying, and the new PC finding his/her soul, and maybe being bound to it? No idea how that would work from a roleplaying or even gameplay standpoint, having a PC with two souls, but it does sound like something the could happen.

That is a good idea. The new character would have a reason to seek the returning companions and maybe we could even receive some of abilities/talents from our previous character.
