Welcome to the new modding forum!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, you're to be congratulated. The folks who wanted a modding forum now have one thanks in largest part to the willingness of the community to calmly and patiently advocate for it.

I'm the junior mod on the totem pole, so this isn't *my* victory. I doubt I had much to do with getting this forum in place. There will be guidelines and FAQs coming soon along with a list of forum moderators and, most importantly, interested members who will share their experiences. The *only* thing I'm doing now, and this is because there are no posts as of right now as I create this thread, is to congratulate you and, just as importantly, urge you to keep up the good work you've done by maintaining the principles that have made this forum possible in the first place.

1. Be gentle with one another. Debate, even fierce debate, is always welcome. Personal attacks and pointless acrimony don't help anyone.

2. Be conscious of the intellectual property of others. Not just because of potential trouble but, beyond that, because it's the right thing to do. When in doubt, consult Obsidian's guidelines here: https://eternity.obsidian.net/legal/ip-use

3. Help one another. The point of this forum is for folks to compare ideas and create possibilities for everyone to share.

4. Lodge complaints against Obsidian where you find fault and speak your mind, but remember that they created the game, this message board, and this sub-forum. They deserve some gratitude for that. If it weren't for them, we wouldn't be here.

This is all I have now and, as other mods assert their authority I'll probably gulag this post. I just wanted to get a quick word in saying congratulations.

Wow, thanks to Obsidion, the devs, and you Cant!  This is wonderful; ever since I got here I've wondered how to find the modding community - sure I could find mods on the nexus, and the nice folks from IEMod post on the forum, but there's likely more people out there with stuff to share!  Can't WAIT to see what's available!

Woho, finally :cat:

I will see, when a bit sparetime allows me to work on.

@Cantousent could you move my 2 threads about the questeditor to here? https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/82224-if-you-would-have-a-quest-editor-what-features-would-it-hold/ and https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/79976-preview-pillars-of-eternity-quest-editor/

Once I have played a game through with no mods or cheats I get enjoyable playtime from exploring the "corners"

of a game and mods that make it easy to do that i find to be fun.

I recall creating a Fallout 3 character with low stats except for luck and strength which I maxed via the console

and then played the game through with out using other console cheats and it was a lot of fun

but if I had a full character editor for that game I can think of lots of other stuff that would be fun to try.

A full Character and save game editor is one tool that I have enjoyed on other games. I know you can make a character

any way you want in the console but that is both clunky and slow

So I would be a user for a mod that included a character editor.
