Witcher 3 at 50% off... tempting, but I did promise myself not to buy more of those until I finally can bring myself to slog it through Witcher 2. It just fails completely to interest me the same way the first game did (which I replayed quite a few times). Might be the crappy interface, the even worse combat, not sure what it is that makes me want to forget about the game, like some unpleasant memory you want to repress.

Same here. The Witcher was fantastic, but Witcher 2 lacked most of what I liked about Witcher; including the multiple cameras, multiple combat styles, detailed alchemy, and pragmatic potion use. I didn't care for the updated dice game, or the Whack-A-Mole [press the letter key QTE] bar fights that replaced the original system.

I stopped playing [W2] just after the Kraken fight (I think), and I haven't ever really picked it up in earnest since; (though I plan to).  Witcher 3 I won in a contest, but have scarcely explored past the tutorial.

Whelp, GOG just introduced a store wallet, which'll allow such fun features as in-game purchases (yup, microtransactions). I'm not entirely sure whether I should be happy about this - well, aside from the fact that a company with a track record of technical ineptitude may now directly receive access to large chunks of money from their customers.

Devs said TQ would come to GOG once the round of update on steam was (close to) finished. It was semi officially announced in March, iirc. Good release though.

..well, aside from the fact that a company with a track record of technical ineptitude may now directly receive access to large chunks of money from their customers.

Eh? Valve has had a wallet feature for years and they're the past masters of half arsing features and products, way more so than GOG. They've got the attention span of a kitten in a disco.

For the vast majority of people using it their game collections will be worth far more than an amount in their eWallet anyway. Gamersgate has had blue coins for ages, and they worked pretty well despite GG being far smaller than either steam or current day GOG.

Well, I never claimed I'd put that kind of stuff in the hands of Valve nor that they're any better. And true, your library does have far greater value than virtual money you'd usually send in GOG's general direction - however, your library can't really be manipulated in any way, not even by the owner really (as in, you can't exchange games or buy anything in exchange for games).

Don't know anything about the game, but perhaps a useful guinea pig for testing Galaxy's multiplayer implementation before I commit to getting GOG keys for D:OS2.

Witcher 2's problem is that it has no heart.

The Geralt from Witcher 1 was an ugly mutt that snuck in a granny's pantry while ****faced to steal pickles and lard. Geralt from Witcher 2 is a fantasy equivalent of Daniel Craig, single highhandedly slaughtering armies while swollen from his own self importance and the profanity laden "maturity" of everything going on in a story that is about as needlessly convoluted as the average anime. From a relative nobody on the streets of Vizima he goes straight to bro-terms with every important individual in the in game universe.

It was quite the Michael Bay treatment.

И погибе Српски кнез Лазаре,
И његова сва изгибе војска,
Седамдесет и седам иљада;
Све је свето и честито било
И миломе Богу приступачно.

Being an old lover of Rogue, Nethack,, Angband and what have you their likes, I bought "The Curious Expedition" today. It looked like it would be something just up my alley. If not, it wasn't expensive :)

Sale on chaps, few interesting titles, i'm getting Cossacks personally.

Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.

I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin.

Tea for the teapot!

Anyone familiar with the GOG version of Bloodlines able to compare it to the disc version? Other than that there's nothing to catch my eye just yet. I know a fair few of you are positive about Grim Dawn, but then it's the current Humble Monthly where for less money you get that and a bunch of other mystary games.

GOG Connect only yielded me X Gold. Makes me think of XTree Gold.

The first batch of games had nothing I was interested in, but they updated with new games and I see Dex for 67% off.  Has anyone played that?  Is it worth a five-er?

It's a bit clunky but it was a fun 2D Deus Ex. Payed €18 or something for it and was fairly happy with that.

I haven't played very much of it, but it's kind of like SNES Shadowrun mixed with a beat 'em up. I'm not using the stealth approach, though. Mostly been using the 'punch anything that moves' approach.

But you can stealth at least some of it?  You don't have to kill everyone?
