Humanoid Posted June 9, 2015 Share Posted June 9, 2015 Maybe now that The Witcher 3 is out, CDPR are looking for someone to really kick-start the writing for Cyberpunk 2077? :D If he's looking for a studio that is both effectively independent but which has both the wherewithal and desire to go with the truly ambitious projects... Enoch Posted June 9, 2015 Share Posted June 9, 2015 (edited) Well, he has spoken a lot about how busy he gets with all his various projects, and it's not hard to imagine that the managerial responsibilities and headaches that come with being a co-owner of a reasonably-sized business are by far the least fun of them. Hopefully he got a nice buyout of his ownership share. But even if he didn't, 12 years of salary has got to be more than could have been reasonably hoped for when he signed onto Feargus's crazy "go it alone" scheme. Best of luck, Chris! I would say that if that was the case, it would had been Josh who would had left, as in end of the day MCA is one of the people who pays (now possibly paid) Josh's salary. Meaning that if there was disagreement about direction where PoE should go then that disagreement ultimately was between owners of Obsidian (from which MCA is/was one). EDIT: But on the topic, it is bit sad to see MCA to leave Obsidian as he is excellent in what he does and he is become somewhat the public was of Obsidian. He wasn't the main creative force behind any of New Vegas, South Park, Pillars or Dungeon Siege; it's a been a long time he's really been the main guy on a project that has gotten released other than the New Vegas DLC and even that he to work within the existing framework already created by Gonzalez and Sawyer. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
