Anyone feel different on the internet?

All my life I've been very stoic. Usually to a point that it bothers people. Yet, on these forums I tend to be much more emotional. Am I the only person who kinda has a different attitude while on the internet?

Nice post, I am the same about the issues I am concerned about in RL and these forums

But in RL I am more concerned with what I say, or rather in what environment I say it. For example I don't tell a customer who is being inadvertently   racist that it is wrong because its not my place to lecture them on something they should be aware of and also there is work etiquette that I need to adhere to. But  if I meet someone in a bar or club and we discuss SJ issues I am always honest, but polite, around what I believe.

I've never actually been to a bar or club myself. In RL I too tend to be very polite, and I always talk in a very formal manner. Not that I talk to people often.

YES, because to many instable persons are offended by anything running around in the I-net yelling at anything "they" seem to have a problem with.

the hunt for negativity is serisouly an issue of todays I-net. When you create your own page with stuff you like others come in and be offended! Huh, did i ever invited you into my home so you can tell me my kitchen is a mess ? NO, i never invited you to anything so keep your problem hunting for yourself. Thank you I-net for showing the world how many crazies are alive and not-so-well....

And if someone is offended by me writing about instable persons then you are an instable person!

I'm actually much more easygoing in real life. The internet is really the only place I get angry about anything. I very rarely get angry at anything.

What makes you angry on these forums and the Internet? In other words what are you passionate about on the Internet that doesn't apply to RL?

Come now, that's not being truly for social justice where you shut up and accept it just for the sake of convenience.

As for me, pretty much the same online as offline in terms of approach to things and demeanor.

Its not a question of convenience, its a question of protocol and how we conduct ourselves at customers

We are not suppose to argue with customers or discuss politics or other contentious issues. I'm sure its the same at all other companies ?

No, that's pretty much convenience for you - you avoid trouble at work. Expected though.

My views are the same, the attitude the same, my position on issues the same. I probably talk a lot more on forums, using a lot more words than I would verbally. Never was good at smalltalk or casual conversations.

Nah, I don't see it as avoiding trouble

But if you make a customer feel uncomfortable about some SJ issue, even if you are right, he is likely to complain about you afterwards. And I don't go to customers to discuss SJ issues, that's not why I am employed. So if anything its about me being professional at work

Well trouble will ensue if you do, so yes, you are avoiding trouble. And if a customer's being racist you should call them out on it, not let it slide.

Indeed the customer is always right and their consumption should be the primary factor in any business, those whom alienate and dismiss their customers are forgetting the basic rules of commerce. A pity game journalists cannot grasp this very basic concept, I suggest they try reading Adam Smith's the Wealth of Nations.

Personally i'm a little more easy going in reality, apart from that i'm fairly much unchanged.

Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.

I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin.

Trust you to find a valid link between what I said and the drama around gaming journalists, I can't disagree with what you have said in the context of this discussion.

I real life, people consider me a drunk and ne'er-do-well. I often come across as rambling and incoherent at worst, at best brilliant but eccentric. I don't know, does that fit with how you perceive me on this forum?

Damn man, this thread makes ye people all look weird and stuff.

I am not much different in real life. I say what I think, just the way I post on forums. It is probably the fault of the internet that I am like this.

"only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."

I'm an **** in both real life and the internet. I just hide it better in real life to avoid drama.

Volo how do you feel about SJ causes in RL ?
