I find hacking to be quite confusing, because the mouse controlled cursor moves in completely unpredictable and chaotic patterns like a drunk mouse. It usually takes me a few seconds to find the part controlled by the keyboard, but I usually spend more than 20 seconds trying to frame the other one with the mouse. Neither upping nor dropping the mouse sensitivity do anything for me. I wonder if it's supposed to be like this or I am having some mouse issue in this game?

You may have mouse issues. The mouse part should move the way you tell it too, even if it is a bit too sensitive.

Glad to know there is some sense in this game, even though it isn't actually working for me.. Thanks.

I think the Sensitivity option under Game options should have been branched out, because it seems to affect every mechanic of the game quite differently. Normal aiming with pistol and assault works just fine at my setting, but sniping and hacking is a total mess. Moving is on the edge, but it would be too slow for me at a lower setting. Guess I'll have to fiddle around more. Would have been really nice if there was a 'training' room in the safehouses..

The best place to test hacking is to start a new game, create a save file just before you do the orientation trainings and go into Parker's training course. There is a hacking panel right after you talk to him.

I tried different settings. The Mouse from the Control panel, Sensitivity in Game Options and the customizable hardware sensitivity of my X7 gaming mouse. None of the sensitivity options had any noticeable effect on hacking or sniping, but it made the rest of the game virtually impossible to play. Had to look elsewhere and started looking for ini files and changed a setting in the APInput.ini Config file in both the game data (install directory) and local data (under My Documents) folders. It helps a little to set this key from true to false:

bEnableMouseSmoothing=false
