With Wasteland, Liesure Suit Larry, and Shadowrun seeing new games thanks to Kickstarter, what other classic franchises would you like to see make a comeback?
Out of everything, I'd like to see Quest For Glory. Probably my favorite franchise of all time.

Longest Journey/Dreamfall
I don't generally care about franchises, but that's the one plot cliffhanger I am interested in seeing resolved.

I think Space Hulk is the best one I can come up with at the moment.
Only if they remake the title song

BG, IWD, Planescape, Arcanum, Vampire the Bloodlines.
MMORPG-wise, I dream about a hardcore mmorpg (your gear drops when you die, etc) using any D&D edition, but that's never gonna happen. Not in my lifetime anyway.

Freespace. Then again, maybe not, the uncertainty at the end of FS2 was rather nice.
Almost suggested a prequel, in the time of terran vasudan war, but no beam weapons and no shields make DD a dull boy.
I'd like a new Syndicate Wars, as an top down tactical shooter, not as an FPS.

My list would just a whole bunch of ex-Origin/Bullfrog/Microprose properties - such as
Strike Commander
F-19/117A Stealth Fighter
Privateer
Crusader
System Shock
Syndicate
Populous
Pirates!
Theme Park/Hospital
Dungeon Keeper
Darklands
Transport Tycoon
Covert Action
Master of Orion
Masters of Magic
Machiavelli: The Prince
Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix
Jane's Longbow
...you get the idea. And a few outside that:
Flashback
Giants: Citizen Kabuto
Betrayal at Krondor
Arx Fatalis
The Last Express
Interstate '76
and some of the non-Core Sim-something games.

Dunno, a while back my answers would've been Baldur's Gate and Deus Ex, but both of those are getting some attention already. I'd cough up for any Infinity Engine game made by the right people (Obsid, ex-Bioware) and probably also for a Warlords game. The first one was always my favourite strategy game.

good suggestions all around. I'd especially love to see Freespace and Alpha Centaury return.

I'd rather see more new projects (like the Banner Saga) in the future rather than sequels and re-makes, but I wouldn't scoff at a Darklands re-make/sequel.

Loom remake/sequel
Betrayal at Krondor remake/sequel
Full Throttle sequel
Anachronox sequel
DaggerXL
Only Betrayal at Krondor at this point is likely to happen after Feist has finished out his latest book. DaggerXL is doable, but the issue is copyright.

Give me 'spiritual successors' or crazy new concepts instead, please.
I wouldn't spit on a new Arcanum, though. That was a setting that could have used another go, there's an enormous potential right there.
