I hope the single player portion of Mass Effect 3 doesn't require Origin...

Nahhh.

I vote with my wallet, and so far if EA force us to install this I wont be buying any of their future titles.

Do you hold the same stance with Steam? I can respect being against both Steam and Origin, but choosing one to discriminate against seems petty.

I currently have and use STEAM. I as a consumer do not want another DRM system on my machine just to play a game I have legally purchased. I am completely fine with and enjoy using STEAM and have never experienced a problem with it (knock on wood).

If there is a Mass Effect 3 Steam version then I'll purchase their title from there. Otherwise I will flat out refuse to purchase another EA game. If they went back to a one time activation scheme like the previous ME's I'd be 100% fine with that.

Not to sound snarky but basically you wont use Origin because they were second to the party?

Pretty much. STEAM works fine and I use it. What's next? UBISoftOrigin required to be installed for a game from them? Then LucasArtsOrigon required to be installed to play their games? SquareEnixOrigin required to be installed to play their games?

Where does it stop? Anyways I'll stop now. This discussion belongs in the piracy thread I think.

Would you guys consider Bioware Social a form of DRM-lite since you cant use the services until you register the game?

What I don't get is why a digital copy of say Arkham City on Steam is 39,99, freaking MW3 (not that I actually want to buy it) 59,99 (wtf!?!!!1).

A hard copy on amazon.co.uk: Batman 24.97 (29), MW3 34.91 (40). And so on for every new game. Same with Origin and BF3 by the way(49,95 vs. 44).

I really love the idea of not waiting a week to get my games delivered but god dammit... I find Steam is only useful for older games on sale.

That's called being out of touch with reality. Thankfully for the corporations there would always be enough of the sheeps paying extra money for the same stuff, because it's OMGSTEAM! or now OMGORIGIN! and it's trendy to be digital only :bat:

For me, digital downloads have nothing to do with trend and everything to do with convenience. Of course, Im not getting screwed on the exchange rate so I can understand why that would upset others.

The german Origin snooping stuff has been thoroughly debunked now. Dude was clueless, and Steam also does much the same sort of thing, perhaps worse

If they went back to a one time activation scheme like the previous ME's I'd be 100% fine with that.

You didn't have much problem using Cerberus Network, as I recall. That's about as 'bad' as Origin.

Really though, the most likely scenario is that it will be basically the same as that, with Origin only really required for the MP and DLC handling.

I did not have any promblems using the whole Cerberus Network thing. If it IS as unobtrusive as that, then well ok.

Since I long ago refused to participate in Publisher "DLC" scams, I only buy GOTY version of games I'm interested in now. I have a long wait until the DX:HR GOTY version sadly...

Possibly as long as for the ME2 one? ;)

Besides, if you don't want to be "scammed", it's probably the best to stop gaming completely. Buy something safer. Like, uh, lots of toilet paper. Even they can rip you off, though!

Or just wait for GOTY bundles and Steam sales, they always show up if you wait long enough.

Is this game from 2002?

Sorry, but after the GTA V trailer this looks just embarrasing.

Because comparing a trailer and a single gameplay screenshot definitely gives the most even comparison! ;)

...the GTA V trailer was also made out of gameplay?

What's so hard for you to understand?

Just look at it. The buildings looks like basic brushes you use for quick layout to test the map, I suppose they "forgot" to get in the final art assets. Let's better not start talking about the ****ty lighting...
