Since Dxun is one of the new planets in KOTOR2, I feel I should ask this: How do you pronounce "Dxun?"

I have no idea if it's correct or not, but the closet approximation I can come up with, based on what the designers call it when talking about it, is: 'ducks-un', with the emphasis on the second syllable.

It's still easier to pronounce than the village of 'Rwhokkowrorroo'.

I thought it would be pronounced 'Zun' - Silent D and an x sounding liked a z, but then, I'm just wierd.

Not from the developers, but from the Expanded Universe:
Dxun- Dxun, one of four moons orbiting the planet Onderon, is home to numerous bloodthirsty monsters. Due to Dxun's erratic orbit, several of the creatures were able to migrate to the surface of Onderon ages ago during a brief period in which the two worlds' atmospheres intersected. Four thousand years ago, after Queen Amanda of Iziz was defeated by the Jedi, the inhabitants of Onderon built a Mandalorian iron tomb on Dxun to house the remains of the Queen and the Dark Jedi Freedon Nadd. Exar Kun later visited the tomb, where the spirit of Nadd helped him discover some hidden Sith scrolls.
In the Dark Side Sourcebook for Star Wars D20, Dxun is listed as an example of a Major Dark Side site due to the corrupting influence of Freedon Nadd and the Queen. As such, an already dangerous place became much, much worse.

4 out 7 worlds are now known(Peragus, Dantooine, Telos and Dxun), but everyone of them has either got a 'dark' tone to it or it has experienced destruction in the past 10 years or so. I vote for a 'safe haven' planet as the next one to be introduced.

Has that been stated?
The sith are winning, but have the actually won? The Jedi and the republic are not one and the same. The Jedi may have been all but destroyed but that doesn't mean the republic has been yet. Courscant may still be friendly ground.
Less it was stated that it was not and I missed it which is possible.

How else would they of killed all the jedi if they didn't occupy Coruscant, would the Republic just let them march in and kill them all.
SilverSun
Jun 13 2004, 03:51 PM
The Jedi could have thrown everything into one battle given how bad the situation was getting and lost. The Sith could have attacked, bombed a good portion of Courscant or landed a ground assult killing the jedi, but getting pushed back in the end. If any place is going to have a hell of a defense set up it would be there. I got the impression from the things I've read that the war is still going on,no side has won,but the Sith are winning the war.

Mesh has a good point there. Perhaps the Jedi simply up and left Courscant all together.

Possibly to make the Sith look elsewhere for the self-exiled jedi master's, instead of besieging an almost totally defenseless Republic when they least needed it.
Another incentive to leave is to actually PROTECT the outer rim - they might scatter across the galaxy to build up resistance forces and hassle the disorganized sith war lords.
Blech, we'll find out eventually. That's the fun of it.

Too bad you won't be able to actually see Freedon Nadd's spirit since his spirit was destroyed by Exar Kun with the use of Naga Sadow powerful Sith amulet. There better be some key Sith spirits in the game like Marka Ragnos or Exar Kun. Hopefully Obsidian won't just pull Sith out of their asses like bioware did with Ajunta Pall and Tulak Hord without providing extensive background info on them.
Cheers!

Since Dxun is a moon of Onderon it seems likely that Onderon its self is another one of the 7.

That's doable but you wouldn't get to defeat Exar outright because of the new Star Wars books that include him. Hell I would settle for some Darkside guidance from Kun and a hand me down like Naga Sadow's Sith amulet. B)

coruscant wasn't the seat of the jedi order back then. it was ossus. ossus was destroyed in the war with exar kun. after that, dantooine was destroeyed.
i guess that they haven't quite managed to assamble a new center yet. maybe we will be founding the new seat of the order on a friendly coruscant?

The war with Exar Kun is in the past in KOTOR. During KOTOR they mention that Dantooine is not the actual home of the Jedi. The true Jedi Council is on another world.
Did they mention it was Coruscant? I can't recall.

you guys are confusing the Jedi academy with the jedi council.
The council was originally on ossus ( the planet that was destroyed & moved to Coruscant. The academy was on Dantooine and i think afte it is destroyed by Malak it also goes to Coruscant where Anakin & co. will destory it in episode 3.
