QUOTE(Hades_One @ Apr 1 2005, 06:20 AM) Ditto. But, perhaps it isn´t just for console? Perhaps... :( QUOTE(Darque @ Apr 2 2005, 07:04 AM) It was said in another thread that their next project isn´t a sequel. -------------------- After a long hard day it really is the thought and lubricant that counts.

QUOTE(Vilmarh @ Apr 1 2005, 11:00 PM) QUOTE(carnifex @ Apr 1 2005, 01:25 PM) Anyone seen this? March 31, 2005 (Rockville, MD) -- Bethesda Softworks® is pleased to announce that we have hired the talents of Obsidian Entertainment® to develop and design a Fallout® sequel. The return of this exceptional series is aimed at the core fans of Fallout®, because the company are confident that the game's appeal will extend to a much broader audience. "In this day when good role-playing games are rare, our releases of Fallout 3® and Fallout 4® promise to deliver what gamers have been yearning to play for ages", said Todd Howard, the game's Executive Producer. "While we wanted to make Fallout 3® our own game, we thought that the previous, cancelled attempt at it was a great idea, so we're finally giving the Obsidian® team a chance to finish it." Howard continued, "As fellow gamers and fans of the Fallout series, we are fortunate to have the talents of the original developers of Fallout and Fallout 2 creating a worthy sequel to Fallout and we are confident that Obsidian Entertainment will deliver a game that will be remembered for years to come." The sequel to Fallout 3, previously codenamed "Van Buren" during its development at Interplay is to resume development at Obsidian Entertainment under the currently given title of "Fallout 4", which may be subject to change. The game is to be produced by Bethesda Softworks LLC (www.bethsoft.com), a Zenimax Media company. I liiiiiike it! Don't even joke about this !!! p.s. If you were anywhere near, i would smack you in the face. -------------------- "God promises eternal life. We can deliver it." - Philip K Dick

If they're indeed going to use the Unreal 3 engine for their next project (then it'll be a BIG title, and probably not one of their own IP's), then I'm not particularly worried about it being a console title. The Unreal 3 engine was made for the PC and it shouldn't be a major problem porting it "back" to the PC after the Xbox 2 version is out. Unless Bill decides he wants exclusivity..

Even if it is KOTOR 3, which it might very well might not be. I would want more than a year, more like 2 or even 3 years, it is about making a great game, not a bunch of so-so games.

If it is KOTOR3, and happens to be console only, I'm not buying it. So if it is KOTOR3, hopefully it isn't console only.

For a flagship title it's almost certain. Dont forget these are the titles that are supposed to make people pay way over the odds for a console they can have at half the price six months later. Exclusivity is almost a given in this situation. A year or so later, quite possible but things will have invariably moved on by then. -------------------- QUOTE(Hades_One @ Nov 3 2005, 07:37 AM) I have to agree with Volourn. Bioware is pretty much dead now. Deals like this kills development studios. |

QUOTE(Zhadow @ Apr 3 2005, 08:18 AM) i went to starwarsknights.com site just a second ago and on the news it stated that someone took kotor3.com kotor2.com pointed to the lucasarts site for knights of the old republic II game. Either this is gonna be KOTOR III or they are just taking the name for later on or its gonna be some other developers. |
